Being Christian and looking over values and what I “should” support versus how I feel and what I really support really do differ sometimes.
Especially when it comes to election season, it’s really hard to decide who to support…
There are people who tell me I should vote for the candidate who’s Christian, or more so Christian. Then there are people who tell me I should vote for the candidate who is super liberal…well…democratic. There are people who tell me I should vote for someone who I support, but (there’s ALWAYS a “but”) go with the person who will improve the country for the better (which is subjective to each person.)
Though politics is important and though I wish I was more interested in it…I think because who I am, my religion, and belief I try to stay out of it.
There are positions I support, and then there are positions where people tell me I should support because of my religion. Then there are positions that I do not support, and then there are positions where people tell me I should not support because of my religion.
What should I do? Who should I listen to?
We should follow on what we think God would want us to do. Or ask ourselves the important question of WWJD.
Even so, we’re only human and we cannot fathom the greatness or what God/Jesus would do/want us to do.
Because I am Christian, and human, I have my own thoughts and opinions on political sides and where I stand.
Especially with who our current president is…I think it is very important to point out where, and why I take certain positions and why my opinions stand in certain sensitive political standpoints.
I’m not going to push my opinions others. Instead, I’m going to just state my opinion and why.
I am open to discuss and debate if you like.
Starting from my next blog, I will talk about sensitive topics one by one in different blogs. For example, abortion, gay marriage, immigration, gun control and so on.
To start off…I’m going to start with my opinion on President Trump.
Look forward to my next blog!
Matthew 5:13 – 16 “13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
